Overtly stringent immigration policies, effect and aftermath

There had been a gush in immigration arrests of the people from foreign lands who are living in United States that have been noticed in the Government’s rule. This has had a devastating impact on continuing immigrants with permanent ties with the land of US. If the numbers released by the US DoS have to be believed, then from the start of the government and through the end of September, the number of immigrants detained in the inner regions of the country are higher rather than those who were at the boundary. Many of these were ricked from their families and societies and this had gone up by 42 percent compared to in the year 2016..

The numbers and accounts of the people who are being extradited show that continuing immigrants with durable US ties were hostilely and methodically being lifted up and expelled, as cited by the researchers at US Human Rights Watch. These are not a splash of cases, but this is the ruthless, damaging aspect of US immigration policy.

Immigration policies has below six highlighting features:

1. Completion of the border wall between US and Mexico. For which the Democrats largely oppose, but Republicans are largely in favor.

2. Extradite immigrants who have arrived in the United States as progenies and are presently being shielded under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. On January 26, 2018, Government released an anticipated immigration plan which would offer a 12-year track to citizenship for about 1.8 million immigrants who arrived in the United States unlawfully as children. This act would replace President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

3. Curb travel and work visas from eight countries that supply maximum population of immigrants to US.

4. Evaluation of the H-1B visa program. Now only highly-paid skilled immigrants will receive the visas and work permits from US government.

5. Control legal immigration.

As the stories go about, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency’s gradually cold-hearted actions and the Government administration’s anti-immigration policies more largely have come under reproach and enquiry. In the closing weeks of the 2018 election, President unstained to beat anti-immigrant bombast across the country and suggested intimidating immigration policies. The administration has made several efforts to orchestrate it and at least one of which has been put on hold by the Federal court—to close the southern border for people that enter from Central American countries and seek asylum in United States. U.S. Border Watch agents fired tear gas at a group of asylum searchers—which comprised women and small children near the San Ysidro port of entry.

Such policies could possibly affect a momentous number of families. If the Government administration were to further make these policies stringent then, it could affect a greater share of the population i.e. 7 percent of U.S. children will have at least one undocumented parent. The research has found that the frightening effects of immigration enforcement will increase for more people than just children with undocumented parents, this execution of the policies could end up affecting a much broader population of Latin students.

The effects of harsh immigration policy’s execution on children and families’ well-being was found detrimental in terms of physical and emotional health of these families that are either dreaded custody or exiled. This terror can have a straight effect on children’s education. When ICE conducted a huge raid at a meatpacking plant in eastern Tennessee in April, there were more than 500 students who were absent from their school the next day. When a family member is incarcerated or extradited, the penalties for children can be unadorned. These aftermaths include material scarcity which could be the absence of basic, necessary possessions such as food and clothing and moreover that constant psychological trauma, in addition to absenteeism from the school.

Through these horrendous policies like family separation, the U.S. government is disrespectful towards children’s human rights, including their right to be with their families and their right for education. The Government administration’s policy sums up to a rejection of this essential American superlative i.e. welcoming immigrants and appreciating multiplicity, instead it favors such policies that produce terror and racism which has led to the most disgraceful incidents in the country’s past.
