Shopping, Gifting & Fun this Season : Happy Holidays

by ExpertBlogger 16. December 2018 17:39

Holiday’s such as nice word to hear, when you hear about holidays then you feel so relaxed and you would like to cheer and enjoy every moment of this, we can meet to friends and family. Share good bad in the year and finally welcome brand new year for new beginning

In the holiday seasons along with fun there is another important thing everyone does is shopping , yes tones and tones of shopping which start with thanks giving holidays and ends with I mean it does not really end but kind of stop at new year’s. I personally visit many store during this festival season and this article about to share my experiences. not to mention all the store and online shop they start their holiday preparation well ahead of time right from hiring new extra employees, ordering all the goods and making sure that infrastructure will run and have enough backup plans because they cannot afford to have anything stop for even for hour, the impact that can have on their sales will be huge.

Now talking about shopping there are many thinks which surprise me, I mean the amount of discount they offer while this period is insane. Something I think if they can afford to sell any item at that price then what about the people who bought that same item in other time of year at the high price are those are fools. On the other hand some good and articles has almost same price as year around but people just think that this is holiday time and all things are on sale so this is cheap and they tends to buy everything they can. Every time person goes in the store to buy one thing and end up purchasing other items just because it holiday season, also this season is gifting season keeping that in mind all stores designs their product in terms of gifting solutions. And advertise them so hard that they kind of divert one’s mind to go and buy the goods if someone has not thought of buying.

Sometime it just amaze me the enthusiasm of people about shopping in heavy winter , standing in those long lines , for some people it’s fun for some people its thrill and some its experience which they want to enjoy. Every online website is filled with deals and promotion and that what make people eyes to want it. Overall I think alone in this 2 months people must be spending almost double amount they spend in entire year.

So If you are shopping be smart rather than wasting your time from store to store and use technology , look out for your finance and  make your holiday shopping experience better than before.

FIFA World Cup and the world

by ExpertBlogger 10. November 2018 14:23

Supposedly you are on the way to your office, following that same routine which you do every day. Suddenly you see a crowd gathered at a random corner of the street which you may not have visited for quite some time. There would be a probability that you will walk up to the scene and measure up the surrounding just to get that curiosity over.

When a noob sees people shouting their lungs out in front of a television he/she is almost sure to check it out, the excitement and the screams sure attract anybody. It is Football World Cup!!!

It is happening right now from Croatia win against Argentina that had an upset audience and they started to cry for Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo’s adrenaline rushed 3 goals against Algeria, France registering a thumping victory over Belgium and moving to semifinal and the news of doping for the host i.e. Russia  yes it is going on, the month where you need to want to leave your office early to support your favorite teams, it is the time where your boss, teacher, manager assignments didn’t bother you much but Argentina qualifying match against Nigeria gives you stress and trend penalty shoot outs gives you goosebumps!!

Let’s have a recap, where it began? It all started in 1930 when Uruguay organized the first ever Football world cup, 13 teams participated at that moment of time and Uruguay had beaten Argentina 4-2 in front of a crowd of 68,346 people and became the first nation to win the World Cup. From an attendance of approximately 6 lakhs at that time to 3.2 billion in 2014 and this year the approximation was more than 7 billion. Trillions of fans all over the world and hundreds of players and multiple teams participating in a huge footie family!

Further, few things that people are not aware about this world cup are as follows:

Viewership: More than 50% of the world’s 7.6 billion population watch The Cup and that is 4 billion people worldwide. According to FIFA, this makes the tournament “the world’s most viewed favorite sporting event.”

Splurge on alcohol and food: According to the latest stats over 750,000 liters of beer cans and bottles were sold in stadiums during the World Cup. A whooping number of 390,600 hot dogs have been consumed by the audience at the stadium.

Increased Birth Rates: The Cup caused an increased in the birth rates of the host countries. Nine months after Germany hosted the World Cup in 2006 their country’s birthrate increased to more than 10 percent.

Football is no doubt the world’s most watched and favorite sport. However in this world cup few teams have not only grabbed the eye but also won our hearts. Iceland, that had a world ranking in the 130s four years ago, have now been hovering around the 30 mark. This is their first major tournament, and they are that petit nation so far to be able to make it to any major football finals. They drew with Portugal and Hungary and beat Austria in the group stage. Their country’s population merely is 3 lakhs and most of their players are not regular footballers as well. To add to this strange combination one of their managers is a dentist, their goalkeeper was a film director once upon a time.

Second most astounding team is Croatia. A team that has spurred victory flags against major teams like Argentina, England and many more strong contenders of the cup. This team’s unbelievable journey to finals will be etched in every football lover’s memory specially their penalty shootouts and their defense mechanisms.

The stats had that Brazil and Italy both combined have 9 World Cup titles to their names. One of these two teams has won 45% of the 20 tournaments that were held. Brazil had won the most titles with 5 wins, ranging from 1958 to 2002. The Brazilians have appeared in every World Cup since its inception back in 1930. Italy and Germany has taken home 4 titles thus making them the second most winning country. Their victories range from 1934 to 2014, followed by Argentina and Uruguay with 2 wins each. Those five teams combine to a total of 16 wins.

So if Croatia wins the world cup this time then it will be newest member to join the winners’ club and the 9th country to do so. The spotlight is definitely on Croatia and France in this Final.

Is Social Media is a threat to privacy?

by ExpertBlogger 8. September 2018 14:51

Facebook is the largest social media website for bringing people on the same platform and help them share their lives with each other. Facebook is not just a platform but it has turned into a global phenomenon that has turned the world of networking by 360 degrees. The users of Facebook connect with each other socially, share their moments and events of life, their favorite things in life, their pictures etc. The users who subscribe for Facebook have been given privacy rights to secure their profiles and data from other users of Facebook not known to them and also if there is any information they want to share among the selected group of people and not with an entire list of friends. A user can safeguard his/her images to be downloaded or saved by others and also there is a block setting provided to each user in order to screen any other user that has been a trouble to an individual.

Despite all the privacy control that a user has been given by Facebook, the data that is stored at Facebook servers are the biggest threat to a user’s privacy. Facebook stores and harvest this data about people for various marketing searches. According to a legislation passed by US government on 23rd March 2018 all over the world the governments can use the “private online data” of the subscribers of Facebook for prosecution and investigation purposes, hence making data harvesting a legal act which can use by governments.

Using data from unconnected people and mapping the common factors from them for friend’s suggestion, a feature that has been added and it works based on the personal information that a user provides about himself through Facebook, makes the information provided by the user vulnerable for hackers. A person who has a Facebook account can be searched all over the applications like Google, Truecaller etc. Google search can be restricted now upon changing the privacy settings however the linkage of old data at Facebook servers still persists on Google. Facebook constantly asks you to provide your phone number for account retrieval process in case the user forgets his/her password.

Then come the sales and marketing strategies that are now focused on those sets of people that have Facebook account and their activities through their online accounts may give myriads patterns of consumer behavioral statistics which are gathered from each user’s account without his/her information and used in market research by the businesses. Every click a user does is being captured by Facebook’s intuitive algorithms and are used by various organizations including the government agencies to keep a tap on everyone in the world who has the social network. The pictures, the statuses, and the various activities in the form of check-ins are prone to misuse by strangers and hackers. In the past before Facebook has given full access to the user to protect the account from everyone in the world the material posted by the users online was very much hackable and had led to crimes in the society.

There are thousands of advertisements from all over the world that are posted on the Facebook and they keep flashing every now and then, if the user clicks on any one of the e-commerce websites and browse through few items listed there, however, don’t buy any, then those products would keep lingering onto your Facebook wall until you buy them. There is no transparency provided by Facebook to the use or misuse of an end user’s data. The ethical use of a person’s data is allowed but not selling of the information that he/she does not wants to share. A user’s personal data and the searches that are made by him/her are sold to various parties for growing their businesses and also to flourish Facebook’s business of creating virtual social networks and making the public believe that in the era of world wide web anything that is not online is something which not technologically savvy. So, people, in order to gain social acceptance in the society and to fall prey to this game of virtual networks, to create online accounts and then get addicted to the ways of it and gradually becoming the reason of the huge empire formed on the use of online data.

Things to Remember while Buying Car Insurance

by ExpertBlogger 2. July 2018 09:53

Buying a car is a big decision considering it as a depreciative asset and also the changing technology is the prime reason for investing rightly in a brand. After buying the car the most important decision an owner has to take is getting the asset covered with proper motor insurance in order to safeguard the vehicle from all types of unforeseen damages that may happen to, it once it gets launched on the road. There are many factors both varying and unvarying that determine a good insurance for an automobile.

In a state like there are multiple factors taken into consideration before zeroing on a good insurance plan. To start with following are the checks to be borne in mind:

a. The credit score of the insurance buyer matters as the insurer would be interested in selling the policy to the party who has a clean credit card history and more responsible in clearing their bills.

b. A good driving history with fewer penalties and tickets for over speeding or driving under the influence of alcohol makes a driver being perceived as more prone to accidents and hence would be charged the premium accordingly.

c. A person’s gender also contributes to an extent in the insurance premium as male drivers are considered to be more hazardous than the female ones.

d. The age factor of the buyer is also an important aspect for an insurance company. Driver below the age of 25 are considered as rash drivers and irrespective of one’s driving pattern a person has to pay the premium higher because of his/her age.

e. The taxi or the cab drivers are liable for a higher premium because the chances of a damage to the vehicle are far more than a private car.

f. A vehicle’s cost, its make, and model also contributes in the insurance that needs to be bought for it. A low range car like a hatchback does not require a costly policy but a trendy sports car or multi-utility vehicle with advanced features would call for a higher premium to be paid.

g. Many insurance companies also decide the premium based on the location of the buyer, because people who drive on mountains or hills or plateaus are more likely to meet with an accident than the people who drive on plains.

The above-mentioned points were considered by an insurer while selling the policy to the buyer. There are certain checks to be performed by the buyers too on the insurer:

a. A buyer should evaluate his/her state’s minimum requirements for the insurance.

b. A buyer should perform a comprehensive market research by comparing the quotes from various insurers before zeroing on one.

c. A buyer should review the insurer’s standing in the market in terms of reliability and also in terms of discounts before finalizing a deal. One should always pick a top-rated insurer irrespective of the cost.

d. Setting up a higher deductible which will ensure a good cut in the premium cost.

e. Usage-based insurance is something where the insurer would track the buyer’s mileage covered and give away discount on the basis of miles driven in a year.

There are few types of covers that should be included in a car insurance:

Liability cover: This is a third party insurance wherein the damage done by the car owner to the other person or person’s vehicle should be covered by the car policy.

No-Fault insurance: It is the cover given by the insurance company to the buyer in case he/she met with an accident that is not the car owner’s fault.

Personal injury Protection: It is the type of cover provided to anyone who travels in the car owner’s vehicle and happens to meet with an accident.

Uninsured motorist insurance: this is a type of cover that gives a protection to the car owner against those who do not have an insured vehicle.

Bottom line is While finalizing the insurance policy a buyer must ensure complete transparency to the insurer by providing all the history of accidents, drink and drive cases etc. else this may lead to denial of the claim by the insurer at the time of mishappening.
