I have a great question for you Have you got everything you deserver? , I am sure 90% people will say no. Most of us once in our lives must have not got what we deserved and the only thought that crosses our minds would be ‘so what! Leonardo have also not won the Oscar despite being a brilliant actor’. This statement was such a relief for all those unfortunate lot who work hard but never got recognized for it. Leonardo was an ideal for all these people, however, now people can’t relate them to him anymore, because he is among the proud winners of Oscar. A well-deserved victory for him. With four Oscar nominations to his name, which is no less an accomplishment and winning now the golden man, this journey for Leonardo has been a long wait for the laurel. There were several memes dedicated to him for his unsuccessfulness to bag an Oscar. He made an impact on the minds of people but failed every time to make an impression on the minds of the jury, which was a much talked about topic all over the world. His atypical and versatile performances in many more were winning the hearts but not Oscars for him. Finally after when he won this prestigious award there are people who think that the reason he won the award for ‘The Revenant’ is not because he performed outstandingly but because he was due for Oscars. His better performances were not awarded and a mediocre performance as in The Revenant bagged him that much awaited prize for this skills.
Somehow this adage appears so true ‘Awards are not always for the deserved’. The institution of awards and the people at jury fail to recognize the real talent so many times. Mostly, they are influenced by some wrong perceptions or their own opinions to hail a nominee as a winner. Leonardo is one such classic case of Oscar winners/losers, where in, the jury never acknowledged him for his out of the box lethal performances and they seem to get impressed by a mediocre performance which he had done, leading to a questionable state about the authenticity of such awards. Somehow the campaigning, PR etc. also play a deterrent role in someone’s win, it’s not just the quality of work that matters to the jury.
This year probably there was not much of a competition for Leonardo and he earned appreciation both critically and commercially making it big for himself from all directions. Oscars are awarded to veterans and established actors, as the history says people with an established fame get Oscars not the lesser known actors, in that view Leonardo is a name that is revered not only in Hollywood but across the globe. Leonardo would have won this award already for his film ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape’ when he was just 20 years old. This year Leonardo had been the only actor that fulfilled every awkward criterion to be an Oscar winner and finally this indefinable trophy got a place in his shelf. Fans are happy for him, however they kind of opinionate that this win could have come to him much before for this exceptional versatility as an actor in many more from his bandwagon. He turned indisputably inimitable plots into commercial successes but his worth got recognized through a movie in which he delivered a good performance which was far lesser than his other stalwart portrayals.
This year Leonardo did not leave any room for improvement while campaigning for The Reverent. Be it telling the world about the frozen cold of the shooting locations of The Reverent or be it telling them that they survived by eating the bison’s liver which made him sick. He made every impression telling people how much he strived to get into the character. He successfully made a mark! It became a proved notion that talent does not play a hundred percent role in one’s success, it is the advertising and branding of oneself that makes someone more acceptable by people. Masses react to aura , they go to watch their stars for substance , however they form an image behind their mind before they go for a movie or anything spectacular that captures their attention do play a substantial role in making a movie and it’s stars a hit.

An art of inspiring people towards a collective goal.
Leaders are born and not made in factories. A true leader is a driver and an initiator. His way of leading is not by power but by inspiring his fellowmen. A leader plays a vital role in the formation of his subordinates’ life’s goals. True leadership rests in forming allies and not turning people into antagonists. What are great leaders made of? They are made of resilience and strong character. They can never be deterred from their mission. They create drive and a surge amongst people to achieve the vision that they have set for them. They make their employees or fellow workers feel safe in their territory of values. They nurture dreams but not at the cost of others’ happiness. A leader possess a focus of an eagle to achieve and an attitude of a steel to go through the roughness of the path and most importantly an emotional intelligence of a parent to provide a safe surrounding to his employees so that they can flourish in his presence. Ninety percent of big firms of the world are investing in growing their leadership to attain the highest level of job satisfaction. A good and healthy organization is built on sound and able leadership. Leaders don’t do things differently, they inspire people to do things atypically. They dominate by their virtue and they partner with people to attain higher sense of commitment from them. A leader is very humane, but he can be singled out from the crowd by his collaborative ways, his emotional intelligence and his ability to bring the best in the people working for and with him. Leaders do not impose their opinions on others but they seek alternate perspective for a situation and thus imbibing the changing trends in their people and in themselves. To support, collaborate, empathize, inspire and follow a result oriented approach is the essence and pivot of an established leadership in any organization. Leaders can be so powerful that they can influence people from all over the world. Great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela have not only created a stir among their countrymen but moved the people internationally to align them to the vision which they wanted to establish. Their charisma extents not only to the principles that they harbor but the implementation of those principles in their own life. The thin line of difference between a powerful leader and an autocrat is the liberty of thought he/she gives to his/her followers. An autocrat would work on the power of designation and a leader would work on the power of his thought. To channelize the energies of the fellowmen and mold the different temperaments in one direction is the art of a leader. Leadership is all about growing each day, as a leader has a challenge to prove himself/herself to his followers with each new day. A person cannot declare himself as a leader, he or she has to rise to that level where his persona gives him/her the credit of being the one. A leader exhibits high morale during crisis and sense of accountability and make his people motivated towards the change that follows. An impartial attitude for this fellowmen and ability to say the stark truth in order to show transparency is the onus of a leader , as he / she is not obliged by anybody but is striving for a higher goal. In his journey to achieve the goal he is not entitled to impress anyone or to be a feel-good factor to the team. It does not necessarily mean that a leader has to be arrogant or aggressive towards his co-workers in order to make them motivated, but he has to be subtle in his measures to give the support when he is needed and hold the hands of the team members who are fumbling to reach their targets. A constructive feedback is the essence of an able leadership. A timely intervention to save the ship and a far sighted approach in order to sense the danger much before it arrives are the true colors of a leader and it would not only save him but his team from the shackles of unaccounted circumstances .
Leaders do not talk of themselves but of the team, the goals, the vision and the people. They strive towards the goals of their team and help each team member to attain a sense of fulfillment throughout this process.
Leaders do not create followers; they create Leaders !
